Abstract

In order to investigate the effect of delayed reservoirs on reducing the flood of the basin studied in this study (basin to Tehran), first, after designing and managing the flood, the effect of the flood is considered downstream without considering the reservoirs, then using The HEC-HMS software for the basin and reservoirs considered at the high basin of the urban basin, the model and performance of these reservoirs are considered in reducing the inflow hydrograph. The results showed that using Delayed Dams in Dubai, the output from the Watershed basin is greatly reduced. The effect of the reduction of peak flood discharge due to the construction of delayed dams in the Watershed basin for flood with return periods of 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 years old is 91.4, 58.1, 89.9, 92.141.7 and 28.5%, respectively. Also, with the increase of the flood return period, the effect of these reservoirs decreases in reducing the flood discharge of the basin.
