Abstract

Clean room is a new technology that has emerged in the last hundred years. This technology was used in different industries. Due to the nature and type of products the pharmaceutical industry, one of the industries that clean rooms are widely used in it.Basic features in clean room are contamination control and the definitions and standards come as temperature, humidity, air pressure, etc that all of them are controlled in this space.
Although the standards are complete and accurate design of mechanical and electrical this type of environment that exists in the design and manufacture is used, but on how to design clean room and access and communication with other departments, performance and optimize and reduce energy consumption and there is less detailed information. Issues such as location, access, space circulation, dimensional characteristics of the space, layout and interior features materials, components, structural parts of space, are those with numerous issues clean room remarkable design and optimum that can influence the optimization function space, cost and energy savings.
The research method used in this research is descriptive-analytic method. At first, a review of the standards for clean rooms, factors affecting the architectural design were identified. These factors more specifically studied and classified by examining case studies related to architectural principles extracted were gathered. Eventually architectural considerations in the design of clean rooms for pharmaceutical industry provided especially for this type of applications that can be used in architectural design.
