Urban facades in historical contexts are a manifestation of native and traditional architecture of each region. Therefore, they are very important from the point of view of experts and ordinary citizens. In many cities of Iran, including the cities with historical Qajar architecture in Mazandaran, these historical contexts have been neglected due to the lack of specific criteria for that historical context, which has caused new intermediate constructions in historical contexts without any plan or connection reasonable with the architecture of the background and ultimately damage these textures visually. By examining the design guides in the historical context of the cities of Mazandaran province, which was carried out from the archives of Mazandaran Cultural Heritage Organization, it was observed that these guides were very brief and brief and could not have a favorable effect on new constructions in historical contexts. Therefore, the necessity of compiling a reference under the title of facade design guide for the historical contexts of Mazandaran cities is strongly felt. In the upcoming research, he first defined the design guides, then the pathology of the historical textures of Mazandaran was done as a case example, and finally, the need to conduct studies on the patterns and rules that shape the appearance of the native buildings of these textures and identify and formulate these rules in the form of design guides of the facade is emphasized.
