The university as responsible of education for future generations is bound to commit its professional effectiveness as an important process in the performance of the education system. The vital role of the university in education of needed human resources doubled the importance of this issue. In this regards the current article is going to assess the rate of effectiveness components in the faculty member of civil engineering department at Imam Khomeini International University (IKIU) from the students' point of view. In this descriptive-survey study, twenty faculty members in six different sub-disciplines were assessed via random sampling Totally, 181 researcher-made questionnaires were collected from undergraduate entrance students of 1390-1393. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 statistical software. The content validity according to the opinions of experts and acceptable reliability with Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.949 confirm the questionnaire. Students' evaluation ranked the disciplinary as the highest and scholarly as the lowest components of effectiveness. Among the examined items, students emphasized on regular attendance and optimum use of class time with the highest average and the ability to motivate students for further study with the lowest average. To conclude, findings revealed that the effectiveness of the mentioned department’s faculty members was assessed higher than optimal level. However, there is a significant gap with the desired and expected situation. This could be interpreted as the necessity of improving the level of effectiveness components among the faculty members in civil engineering department at IKIU.
